Hydrogen Lift in short
We make electricity from hydrostatic energy.
Hydrogen Lift develops a patented method that reuses surplus heat from green hydrogen production—and other energy-intensive industries—and converts it into electricity. Surplus heat is used to heat a gas that expands and builds hydrostatic pressure in a closed water-based system. The pressure drives flow and lifting power (kinetic energy), which is then transformed into electricity that can be used directly in the process.

The Hydrogen Lift method is designed to improve overall efficiency, reduce costs and climate impact, and scale to the size of each facility.

Founded in 2021, Hydrogen Lift is a research and development company headquartered in Hudiksvall, Sweden. We develop a patented method that recovers surplus heat and converts it into electricity—supporting improved overall efficiency across green hydrogen production and other energy-intensive industrial processes. The system is designed to be modular and scalable, adapted to the size and conditions of each facility.

Depending on application and operating conditions, recovered electricity can contribute to measurable efficiency gains and reduced energy costs.
Patent, collaboration and current status
Our method is protected by patents and has been developed through broad cooperation with experienced IP specialists, research actors and industry partners. Our patent work has been supported by Barker & Brettell AB (Swedish filing) and Kransell & Wenborg KB (international protection), helping secure a strong IP position while keeping the solution grounded in real-world industrial needs.
We are actively building an industry network and working with partners around verification and next-step deployment. Our laboratory prototype in Hudiksvall is up and running, and we are now entering the next development step (Prototype Proof of Concept), continuing to refine the system and prepare for larger-scale demonstration together with customers and partners.

Company mission
We offer a concept that increases production efficiency and profitability by reducing heat losses, capturing excess waste heat, and converting it into electricity.

The concept can be applied to both existing and new installations. Our primary target group is manufacturers of electrolyzers for green hydrogen, as well as system integrators. We also target other energy-intensive industries with excess waste heat.
